Goalkeeper Training

Alpine Strikers Alliance offers free goalkeeper training to any interested MP Strikers or Alpine Strikers Alliance player on Fridays at Woodside Elementary School.

Program Goals
Beginner/Intermediate:

Ball familiarity
Basic footwork
Catching balls: high and low
Basic distribution: punts and throwing
Basic positioning on the field and field awareness

Intermediate/Advanced (will be added if we have sufficient interest):

Ball familiarity
Footwork
Body positioning
Goalkeeper specific warm-up
Catching balls: high, low and dealing with crosses
Distribution: punts, throws, goal kicks
Punching of ball
1v1 situations
Back passes
Basic diving
Restarts


Coach
Zach Masters is the Coaching Coordinator for the Menlo College. As a head girls coach at St. Francisco High School, Masters led the team to four conference championships and four Sac-Joaquin section championships in five seasons, and a No.3 national ranking by the NSCAA. In 2004, Masters was named Coach of The Year for California Private and Parochial schools by the NSCAA. As head coach with the San Juan Soccer Club in Folsom, California, Masters took three teams to the CYSA State Cup quarterfinals.

Masters earned his Bachelors in Physical Education with an emphasis in teaching/coaching from Sacramento State in 1999. In 2004, He holds a Master`s in Education Cross-Cultural teaching from National University. In addition, Masters has a California single subject teaching credential in physical education.
